2019 Yamaha FZ Fi ABS and FZ-S Fi ABS Version 3 launched in India on Jan 21 2019

On 21st January 2019, Yamaha launched the new FZ Fi ABS and FZ-S Fi ABS Version 3 in India. The new version of the bikes has a new design and improved ergonomics to give it a trendy muscular look.

The 3rd generation of Yamaha FZ line-up comes with a completely new muscular design and featuring new electronics as well, with an improved design, style, and new features, the bikes got a single channel ABS (anti-lock braking system) as standard.

As we know that the ABS is mandatory from April 1, 2018, in all the bikes having 125 CC or more in India. Everyone was waiting to see ABS in the FZ series of Yamaha in India, and finally, it comes and wait is over. Yamaha has launched the Dual Channel ABS versions of the FZ 25 and the Fazer 25 as well in India.

Here is everything you need to know about the Yamaha’s new 150CC naked bikes.

Completely new design and new electronics

Finally, Yamaha has updated the design of the FZ series, as the people were tired of seeing the same older design every year. Yamaha has introduced some foremost changes in the bikes to keep it significant. The bike now has a muscular fuel tank beefier (like on seen on the FZ 25). The bikes have a completely re-designed headlight with LED lamps on the front. A chrome duct plating on the front looks like an air vent, but it’s placed only to add more beauty in the bike.

The other noticeable changes include an engine cowl and a newly designed midship exhaust. Both bikes got a new LCD instrument cluster with the features like the odometer, fuel gauge, clock, and many more.

New and more comfortable ergonomics

The majority of the changes are to bring a new design with great pricing; Yamaha has really done a great job in new FZ and make it really more comfortable for both the rider and pillion. The handlebar is 22mm taller and bit more close to the rider; it helps reduce the strain on the rider’s shoulder and arms for long distance driving.

The ignition key is now moved to the fuel tank. Also, the bike now has a single unit seat rather having a split-seat and a flatter subframe to add more comfort for the pillion.

Same engine with different tuning

The bikes have the same 149 CC air-cooled, 2 valves, single-cylinder, fuel injected engine seen in the previous version. The engine generates 13.2PS of power at 8000rpm and 12.8Nm of torque at 6000rpm and coupled with a 5-speed gearbox. The competitors like the TVS Apache 160 4V make 15.12PS/13.03Nm and the Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 make 15.5PS/14.6Nm respectively. Yamaha claims that engines in both bikes are now tuned to deliver better low-end performance.

Let’s see how much really the engines are tuned in the test ride video in future.

Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM has confirmed that they are planning to make a 500CC motorcycle for India and will be made by the Bajaj featuring a parallel-twin engine.

The company is struggling to gain a position in the market as a top bike manufacturing company. KTM is all set to strengthen its presence in the medium displacement segment with a new 500CC motorcycle accompanied by a twin-engine.

Stefan Pierer, CEO of KTM confirmed in a recent interview that the motorcycle would be made by the Bajaj in India. Meanwhile, we can expect it to be launched at an affordable price starting from 3.5 lakhs.

Bajaj is already producing the 125, 200, 250, and 390 CC variant bikes of the naked Duke and fully faired RC series for the company. Very soon, we will be seeing the adventure variant of the KTM 390. Speculations are being made that the 500 CC platforms could have multiple variants but there are no details for as of now from the company’s side. Assumptions were made that the first variant could be a Duke.

The Duke is the top selling bike of the KTM and is famous for its class-leading performance, power output, and light frame. The RC series is full-faired known for track-specific performance; the adventure series is yet to come to India with a dual-purpose design for all-terrain usability. The 500CC variant will bring a completely new segment in India.

The bike will borrow the design elements from the elder 390CC and 790CC variants to give it a new look. Means, we can see the bike on a trellis frame, WP suspension system with inverted telescopic forks upfront and monoshock suspension at the rear, alloy wheels, fully digital instrument console, ABS, edgy style, fleshy tyres, and best-in-class power-to-weight ratio.

We can expect to see double discs in the front wheel in the new 500CC bike. Also, the bike could produce the power of nearby 80 HP and we can see the multiple riding modes too in the motorcycle. And, it’s not a surprise to see the slipper assist clutch and 6-speed transmission in the bike.

There are a lot of speculations is being made for this bike since when it’s been announced by the company. However, there are no official details about its design, features, and variants are available yet, but keep watching this space and we will keep you posted when an update comes from the officials about this bike.

Just because a car costs several lakhs of rupees does not make it a reliable car. You must look at the past performance of the model that you wish to buy in the Indian road condition to figure out how reliable car is and how good is the service of the company if something goes wrong with that car. You should try to find out whether the spare parts of that model are widely available in India and find out whether there are enough service centers in your city where you can repair the car that you wish to buy if it breaks down.

Nowadays, people do not keep their cars for several years, but they generally sell after three or four years of driving and then buy another car. This ensures that they always ride those cars that are technologically the best the market has to offer. However, when they like to buy a second car, then it would be advantageous for them if they were able to sell their old car for a good price. This is possible only if the car they have purchased is of a well-known global brand, which is known for its quality. Anyone who will buy the second-hand car from them will also look at the reliability should carefully. Therefore, try to find those luxury cars in India that sell at a premium in the second-hand car market of India and choose one of them.

The more you ride your car; it is inevitable that there will be wear and tear in your car for which you need to fix by replacing some parts. There are many exotic car brands in India, which produces amazing looking models, but due to a shortage of spare parts is cars are very hard to sell. There are certain brands like Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Porsche and a few more that have an extensive sales network in most cities in India. Therefore, if you buy a model of any of these brands, you will find it easier to get their spare parts compared to other brands, which are not so widely available in Indian market.

4. Maintenance cost of the car: If you want to buy a luxury car, then you need to take into account the maintenance cost of that car. You have to understand that the older the car is, the more money you have to spend on its maintenance. In addition, the price of spare parts and servicing of such cars are very high, it may drain your finances in the long-term. Always try to find those second-hand luxury cars in India, which are only three or four years on the road. The newer the car is, the less money you will have to spend on its maintenance.

If you want to buy it for your family, then you need to look at the space issue carefully. Many well-known brands sell premium models that cost lakhs of rupees, but not provide good cabin space. Therefore, first figure out your needs and then look at those models that will fulfill those needs.

6. Insurance for the car: You need to understand that if you buy premium cars, then you have to pay a large amount for the insurance of the car. Therefore, when you buy a second-hand premium car, make sure you look at all the benefits and cost to make an informed judgment whether you to require that car or not.

8. What is the service record of the car: You should always look at the service record to find out how many times it was repaired to understand the condition of the car. If the service record shows that the car was repaired multiple times, then it proves that the car was used roughly. It is always prudent to avoid buying such cars.

9. Find out the manufacturing date: Always look at the manufacturing date of the car that you wish to buy. The older the car is, the harder it is to find it, spare parts.
